The Writers Studio - The Writers Studio's at 30 (San Francisco)

Founded by the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Philip Schultz, The Writers Studio is a landmark school of creative writing. The Writers Studio's at 30 celebrates the school's 30th anniversary with 500 pages of fiction and poetry by over 100 authors—students and teachers, as well as the advisory board and other distinguished writers who have helped build this prestigious independent literary community. 


Kathie Jacobson
Her work has appeared in Crack the Spine, Driftwood Press, Pithead Chapel, Necessary Fiction, Twisted Vine and other literary journals and has been featured as a Longform Fiction Pick-of-the-Week. Her story “Thirst” was nominated for a 2017 Pushcart Prize. She teaches at the San Francisco Writers Studio and is a member of the Masters class.

Tamara Schuyler
Her fiction has appeared in CutBank, Mulberry Fork Review, Crack the Spine, and SmokeLong Quarterly. Two of her stories have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, and one was awarded honorary mention in Glimmer Train's "Very Short Fiction Contest" (March/April 2016). She started attending workshops with The Writers Studio in 2011 and is currently a member of The Writers Studio Masters class.

Tristan Silverman
She began writing poetry in Chicago’s poetry community and has been living in San Francisco for the last three years. Tristan is a recent Alum of the Community of Writers at Squaw Valley (2016), and is published in numerous journals including Boxcar Poetry, decomP, Pedestal Magazine, Up The Staircase Quarterly, and November 3rd Club. Tristan began with The Writers Studio in 2015.
