Trust Me, I'm an Immigrant (San Francisco Ferry Building Store)

Monday, May 13, 2019 - 1:00pm

Good Chance Theatre, the Young Vic, and the National Theatre’s co-production of The Jungle places audience members inside the 2015 Calais refugee camp to viscerally experience the issues that influence the migration of people. The British Council helped this piece transfer from the UK to USA, first to St. Ann’s Warehouse and now at the Curran Theater (through May 19).

Trust Me, I’m an Immigrant (foreword by Dr. Madeleine Albright) is a collection of essays encapsulating issues such as loss of home, the danger refugees face, and impact of xenophobia discussed in The Jungle. Join us for a conversation featuring the collection’s editor Christopher Merrill, Director of the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa and essayist Maria Garcia, researcher at FWD.us.

This event is presented in partnership with The British Council. The British Council is the UK’s international organization for cultural relations and educational opportunities.
