Martin Amis discusses his new novel, Lionel Asbo: State of England ($25.95), the story of a terrifying yet weirdly loyal thug who has always looked out for his ward and nephew, the orphaned Desmond Pepperdine. This is vintage Amis, a savage, funny, and mysteriously poignant novel by a renowned author at the height of his powers.

This is a ticketed event: admission to this Book Passage event is by purchase of Lionel Asbo: State of England ($25.95 + tax) from Book Passage.  A ticket entitles one person to admission and seating. Please note in the comments field of your order that you will be attending the event.

Martin Amis is the author of twelve previous novels including The Rachel Papers and London Fields, the memoir Experience, two collections of stories and six of nonfiction, most recently The Second Plane. Though British-born, Amis is now one of America's finest writers. Amis now lives in Brooklyn, New York.
