Please join us for a dynamic conversation between renown authors Louise Penny and Rhys Bowen. In this wide-ranging dialogue, they will discuss their writing processes, research methods, sources of inspiration, and more. This event will be moderated by Luisa Smith, Editor in Chief of Mysterious Press.

Louise Penny, a former CBC radio journalist, is the #1 New York Times, USA Today, and Globe and Mail bestselling author of the Chief Inspector Armand Gamache novels. She has been awarded the CWA Dagger, Nero, Macavity and Barry Awards, as well as two each of the Arthur Ellis and Dilys Awards. In addition, she has won the Agatha Award (eight times), and was a finalist for the Edgar Award for Best Novel. In 2017, she received the Order of Canada for her contributions to Canadian culture. Louise Penny lives in a small village south of Montréal.

Luisa Smith is the Buying Director of Book Passage, where she has worked for over 25 years, and editor-in-chief of Penzler Publishers which includes the mystery fiction imprints Mysterious Press and Scarlet. She grew up surrounded by books as her father is the bestselling author, Martin Cruz Smith and her mother was an English teacher. A childhood filled with books has resulted in a lifelong love of every aspect of the book world, but the mystery genre holds a particularly special place in her heart.
