Karima Cammell & Clint Marsh - The Troll Cookbook (San Francisco)

Tuesday, March 22, 2016 - 6:00pm

Where there are wild places, there are trolls, wily nature-dwelling shapeshifters who possess the secrets of transformation. As humans, we tap into the “old magic” of the trolls every time we use our creativity—especially in the kitchen. Drawing from the rich imagery and dark humor of troll legends from around the world, The Troll Cookbook imparts culinary skills, practical slow-food knowledge, and primal confidence to cooks wishing to harness the power of these chaotic, curious, self-reliant creatures.

Karima Cammell is a painter, author, and publisher admired for her merging of art, business, and personal philosophy. In 2001, she founded Castle in the Air, a shop and classroom in Berkeley, California which grew to become a destination for artists and dreamers from around the world. Her list of award-winning books includes Pirate & Hoopoe, Commonplace Mouse, and Commonplace Birthday.

Clint Marsh uses elements of myth, magic, folklore, and humor to help people navigate everyday life. His first book, The Mentalist’s Handbook, updated Victorian spiritual techniques for modern readers. He authored the satirical Goblinproofing One’s Chicken Coop, which was
awarded the Bookseller/Diagram Prize. Clint is the editor of Fiddler’s Green Peculiar Parish Magazine.
