Jean Hegland - Still Time

Sunday, October 18, 2015 - 1:00pm

Until John Wilson met the warm, wise woman who became his fourth wife, the object of his most intense devotion had always been the work of William Shakespeare. From his feat of memorizing half a dozen plays as a student to his evangelical zeal as a professor, John's faith in the Bard shaped his life. But his mental powers have been diminished by dementia, forcing his wife to move him to a residential care facility. When his only child, Miranda whom he has not spoken to since a devastating misunderstanding a decade ago comes to visit, John begins to question some of his deepest convictions. Still Time is the story of an imperfect father and a wounded daughter's efforts to achieve some authentic connection.

Jean Hegland is the author of the novels Into the Forest and Windfalls. The film version Into the Forest, starring Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Wood, is scheduled for release in fall 2015. Jean Hegland is a frequent presenter at writers' conferences and has taught creative writing for many years. Her pastimes include beekeeping and reading poetry at a local memory care facility.
