In conversation with Judith Horstman
For more than four decades, Don George has traveled the globe, writing about faraway places and the people who live there. Many of us know Don from the annual Book Passage Travel Writers & Photographers Conference he co-founded, or his many articles, books, tours, and writing workshops.
Join us for An Evening with Don George in conversation with Judith Horstman, president of the Bay Area Travel Writers, as he shares some highlights of his career as well as his personal journey from poet and teacher to travel writer and editor. It’s an adventurous journey of change and acceptance with a smattering of serendipity, and stops along the way at some of the 90 countries and six continents he’s visited.
Don is currently editor at large for National Geographic Travel; the author or editor of a dozen books, including The Way of Wanderlust: The Best Travel Writing of Don George and How to Be a Travel Writer; and has been travel editor at the San Francisco Examiner-Chronicle, Salon, and Lonely Planet.
