Class: Cyretta Chaput - Spanish Book Group

Tuesday, January 14, 2020 - 3:00pm

Four Tuesdays: Jan. 14, Feb. 11, Mar. 10, Apr. 14 • 3:00-5:00 pm • $100 • (in Spanish)

This Spanish language book group features books by Allende, Paz, Rulfo, Marquez, Esquivel, and Duenas that cover a variety of writing styles and genres. Lively discussions in Spanish will help strengthen our communication skills as we delve into the historical settings and sociological significance that these noted authors contributed to Latin American literature. We will begin on January 14 with Isabel Allende’s latest masterpiece, Largo Pétalo de Mar, available at Book Passage, and followed by the group’s next selection. We recommend this workshop for advanced Spanish-language students as well as people who admire the beautiful language, imagery, and literary depth of Latin American authors.

Cyretta Chaput is a native of San Francisco who grew up in Mexico City. She earned her B.A. in Spanish Literature at Universidad de las Americas.
