California Writers Club: Marianne Lonsdale - Find Your Writing Community

Sunday, June 28, 2015 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

2:00-4:00 pm • Corte Madera • $5 for members; $10 for non-members

"Writing in Community" has become a buzz phrase, but what does it really mean? What are the ways writing communities benefit writers?  Where and do you go to get it? Writer Marianne Lonsdale will discuss her experiences and involvement in writing communities (Left Coast Writers, Write On Mamas, Lit Camp and an Advanced Writing Group). Writing may leave you feeling isolated, but finding community can energize us. Come hear all about the value of connection and collaboration!

Marianne Lonsdale writes personal essays and short stories, and is now focused on developing a novel. Her work has been published in the San Francisco Chronicle, Literary Mama, Fiction365, The Sun, and Pulse. She is a founding member of Write On Mamas, a San Francisco Bay Area writers group. Marianne has read at various events including San Francisco’s Litquake festival, and is honored to be an alumna of the Community of Writers at Squaw Valley. She lives with her husband, Michael, and son, Nicholas, in Oakland, California.

CWC is a great place to improve your craft, no matter what level you are at. Benefits include meeting local authors, agents, and publishers and creating critique groups with like-minded writers. Our meetings feature speakers,  workshops, and networking.
