Briana Saussy - Making Magic (Corte Madera Store)

Thursday, June 6, 2019 - 7:00pm

Born with a severe cleft palate, Briana Saussy was given a low survival rate by doctors. She fortunately received the life-altering surgery necessary to survive, but the recovery was still an uphill climb. Several factors contributed to her healing process—including magic. For many, the term conjures up thoughts of illusions or tricks, but for Saussy, magic is something entirely different.

In Making Magic: Weaving Together the Everyday and the Extraordinary, Saussy introduces us to the remarkable magic that’s already present in our daily lives. She shows us how our ordinary experiences—going in and out of doors, scheduling our time, making and maintaining friendships, and tending to our homes—are rich and bursting with magic. Through practical, straight-forward techniques and rich story-telling, Saussy teaches us how to create rituals and ceremonies that are both meaningful and relevant to our immediate lives.

Briana Saussy is a teacher, spiritual counselor, and founder of the Sacred Arts Academy, where she teaches tarot, ceremony, alchemy, and other sacred arts for everyday life.

"We all have a deep capacity to make magic . . .
. . . and to do it as easily as we breathe or open our eyes. This is not a matter of belief. You can discover your own capacity for magic in your own direct experience."
