Beth Miller - Waking Up on the Couch (Corte Madera Store)

Tuesday, June 4, 2019 - 7:00pm

Waking Up on the Couch is the journal of one woman’s quest for spiritual awakening, from a childhood connection with the ‘invisible world’ to a profound remembering of her true nature decades later.  It is an intimate look at how we develop our personalities, identities, and defenses, all in the service of a self.  And how, by "dying before dying”, we can let go of whatever keeps us small. Waking Up on the Couch is a deep psychological and spiritual exploration, as well as an invitation to the reader to take an inner journey, delving into your deepest being in a discovery of abiding and embodied contentment.

Beth Miller, PhD, trained as a psychologist and lives in San Francisco. She is the author of The Woman’s Book of Resilience and has had a gratifying career devoted to helping people discover their innate wholeness. She taught at California Institute of Integral Studies and The University of San Francisco Medical Center. She had a private practice of psychotherapy for twenty-five years and gave seminars, talks, and workshops on cultivating resilience. She treasures watching her five extraordinarily kind grandsons find their way in the world. They bring her enormous joy and belly laughs. Find more about her at bethmillerphd.com.
