Optional 30-minute private consultations are available for $95. You may use that time to either discuss a concept or proposal, or to have a faculty member give you feedback on a manuscript or illustrations you have submitted. Faculty members available for consultations are listed below.
Submitted written material must be double-spaced and should not exceed 10 pages for a picture book, or 20 pages for a middle reader or young adult novel. Illustration submissions should be limited to ten (10) illustrations. Illustrations can be centered around one theme, or a varied representation of your work.
Please select three members of the faculty listed and include their names with your submission, ranking them in order of preference. We ask for three faculty members per consultation, so that if you’re having multiple consultations, you’ve noted several choices for each. (For example, if you’re having 2 consultations, please list 3 faculty members for each, for a total of 6) We will do our very best to accommodate your preference.
If submitting written work, please email your submission to Kathryn Petrocelli at bpconferences@bookpassage.com. If submitting illustrative work, please mail two (2) copies of your submission to the following address:
Book Passage 51 Tamal Vista Blvd. Corte Madera, CA 94925 Attn: Kathryn Petrocelli
If you prefer to use your consultation for a discussion of ideas, please still send your list of three faculty members to meet with in order of your preference. You can email that list to Kathryn Petrocelli at bpconferences@bookpassage.com and note that your consultation will be to discuss an idea/proposal.
We encourage you to purchase your consultation prior to arriving at the conference, as this will help ensure that we are able to schedule you to meet with one of your top faculty choices. If you would like to arrange a consultation once you have arrived at the conference, however, you are welcome to do so. Please bring your written or illustrated material with you to the conference and we will let you know which faculty members still have availability.
