Description
Darfield and Wombwell Then & Now offers the reader a comprehensive overview of life as it has changed from the coalmining communities of decades past through to the modern developments of the present day. The coal mines are long gone but have not been forgotten, and a good deal of continuity is evident, despite the loss of so many buildings through demolition and redevelopment. Brian Elliott's fascinating selection of archive photographs placed alongside stunning images of the same scenes today make this book an incredible record of Darfield and Wombwell’s history that will enthral residents and visitors alike.
