Travel Writing & Photography Contests (Travel Writers & Photographers Conference)

2015 Contests (2016 Info TBA)

There will be two contests for participants ~ one for writing and one for photography. You are welcome to submit for both contests. Prizes will be announced at the conference!


•  For writing, participants may submit a travel article or essay, of no more than 1500 words, on the topic “My Most Unforgettable Travel Encounter.” Please email your submission to Kathryn Petrocelli at Please use "contest entry" as your subject line, and paste your submission into the body of the email rather than as an attachment. Please note: the deadline for contest entry is 5:00 pm on Friday, August 7th. We will only accept entries after that date for participants who register for the conference after Wednesday, August 5th. For these participants, we will accept submissions up until 6:00 pm on the day the conference begins.

•  For photography, participants may submit three (3) photos representing “My Most Unforgettable Travel Encounter”. Please do not submit raw photos. The photos should be large, high-quality jpegs, with minimal alteration. You may submit via disk or flash drive. Please note: We ask that you bring your photographic submission with you to the conference. We will accept submissions up until 6:00 pm on the day the conference begins.
