Are you looking for a signed first edition of a particular title? At Book Passage we pride ourselves on being able to offer signed first edition/first printings of many current titles at list price. Our site features an up-to-date list of our currently available signed first editions.

Members of our Signed First Editions Club receive a signed first edition each month of a new work of fiction by an emerging author who shows exceptional talent and promise. Many of our selected authors have gone on to win literary acclaim, including Paul Harding, whose novel Tinkers won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction! We have an archive of our previous picks available as well.

The Book Passage Mentoring Program offers authors a unique approach to building a writing career. Writers have the opportunity to work with an established author and focus on the issues that are the most important to them.

Book Passage hosts the monthly meetings of Left Coast Writers® at our Corte Madera store. This Literary Salon is led by author and workshop teacher Linda Watanabe McFerrin. The monthly meetings provide an evening of literary connections, support, counsel, provocative readings, writing tips, literary chat, unabashed networking, and great fun. Each meeting also features a presentation by one of several Bay Area literary figures. Read more

The California Writers Club is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit education corporation, with fourteen branches in the state. The organization is dedicated to educating writers of all levels of expertise in the craft of writing and in the marketing of their work. This is achieved through regular meetings, workshops, contests, seminars and conferences at the state level and at each of the fourteen branches. Writers of all disciplines are welcome to join.

Our Aunt Lydia Book Club members receive monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly book selections based on their own reading preferences and interests. Our club coordinator surveys the tastes of each member at the beginning of their membership to get a feel for the types of books the member enjoys, and then she scouts for just the right books to send them. It's like having a personal shopper for bibliophiles!

Book Passage is fully committed to Book Clubs out in the community. We help readers in the Bay Area organize their own book clubs. Community book clubs may register their clubs with Book Passage to receive a 10% discount on book selections. Our book clubs coordinator can help suggest just the right titles for your book club, too. Plus, we occassionally host special events for book clubs at our stores, and registered clubs can receive reserved seating at select author events. Don't forget to check our Book Clubs news page for all the latest updates!

Book Passage welcomes readers to our two young adult book groups! MB14 (“Must Be 14”) are a group of teens dedicated to reading and reviewing new and exciting titles. INK is a group designed for avid readers from ages 10-13. Both groups meet to verbally review what they’re reading, discuss elements of literary culture, host author visits, and take home advance reader copies of books to read before they arrive at the store. If one of these readers has recommended a book in the store, trust us: it’s a winner! INK meets on the 3rd Friday of each month at 6:00pm, and MB14 meets at the same time on the 4th Friday of the month. Check out MB14's reviews on their blog at mustbe14.wordpress.com

New members are always welcome! Please contact Amanda Conran at aconran@bookpassage.com to learn more.
