Path to Publishing Workshop: Birthing Your Truest Stories
$30 for Path to Publishing Members • $45 for Non-Members
Saturday, October 21, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Memoirist and writing teacher Jennifer Browdy joins writer and birth doula Audrey Kalman to explore the resonances between birthing and writing in this interactive class. This class will inspire writers to become their own doulas, developing a powerful internal ally to walk with them on their writing journeys. Among the questions to be explored: What tender truths are seeking to come through you? Can you express your truth more authentically in fiction than in memoir? What are the strengths of different genres, and which one is right for the story you are bringing to light?

Jennifer Browdy, Ph.D. is an associate professor of comparative literature, gender studies and media studies at Bard College. She is the founding director of the Berkshire Festival of Women Writers. Audrey Kalman is the author of two novels: What Remains Unsaid and Dance of Souls. Her short fiction has appeared in numerous print and online publications.
