Left Coast Writers® Literary Salon Presents Rose Solari
Award-winning poet Rose Solari presents her novel A Secret Woman ($22.95). The story follows a strong and independent woman who finds out strange, interesting things about her late mother and subsequently finds herself immersed in an incredible journey.
Rose Solari is the author of two full-length collections of poetry, Orpheus in the Park and Difficult Weather. Her poetry and prose have appeared in many journals and anthologies, including American Poetry: The Next Generation; Just Like A Girl: A Manifesta; Enhanced Gravity: More Fiction by Washington Area Women, and Initiate: New Oxford Writing. Her awards include the Randall Jarrell Poetry Prize and grants from the Maryland State Arts Council and the D.C. Commission on the Arts Humanities. She has been a featured reader three consecutive years at the Sunday Times Oxford Literary Festival, where she was Blackwell Books 2009 Poet-in-Residence.
Book Passage hosts the monthly meetings of Left Coast Writers® at our Corte Madera store. This Literary Salon is led by author/teacherLinda Watanabe McFerrin. The monthly meetings provide an evening of literary connections, support, counsel, provocative readings, writing tips, literary chat, unabashed networking, and great fun. Each meeting also features a presentation by one of several Bay Area literary figures. The fee includes membership in Left Coast Writers®, a group of new and experienced writers.
