Houses and Origins ($59.95) is a beautifully illustrated book that takes the reader on a journey through a number of outstanding houses designed and built in the California landscape by the Berkeley firm WA design.
In this volume, author and WA design founder David Wilson has chosen to pair images of his architecture beside the images from nature that inspired his designs. The origins of the firm’s work are also deeply rooted in the vernacular buildings of California and this influence is clearly illustrated in this impressive monograph.
David Wilson has been a building designer for over fifteen years and a photographer since the age of seventeen. His designs have won awards from the Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association, Sunset, and Metropolitan Home Magazine. He has photographed architecture for Sunset, Better Homes and Gardens, and San Francisco Magazine. He lives in Berkeley with his wife, Stacia Cronin, and children, Chase and Kai.
