Portugal - Study her history and its attendant monuments  from the Celts, the Romans, the Visigoths, Moors and Spaniards and a series of fascinating rulers whose incredible palaces compete with the monasteries of the religious orders. We visit Guimaraes, Conimbriga, the vast wine district of the Douro, Porto, a city full of visual surprises, John V's Palacio Mafra, Coimbra-the University city- and finally Lisbon and the palaces and gardens at Sintra and Queluz.

Kerrin Meis taught art history at SFSU for ten years, and she currently teaches for the OLLI programs at Dominican University and UC Berkeley. She leads study tours in Europe. Her Book Passage classes have been big favorites for years.
