Class: Kerrin Meis - In a Brilliant Light: The Lure of the South of France (Corte Madera)

Friday, June 10, 2016 - 1:00pm

3 Fridays: June 10, 17, & 24 • 1:00 – 3:00 pm • $105

The word for this area is Midi—meaning “noon”—that perfectly describes its characteristic feature: the brilliant light. For artists it was an absolute revelation. We see what that intensity of color meant to the those who thrived there: Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, Van Gogh, Signac, Braque, Dufy, Matisse, Chagall and Picasso.

Kerrin Meis taught art history at SFSU for ten years and now teaches OLLI programs at Dominican University and U.C. Berkeley, and leads study tours in Europe. Her Book Passage classes have been favorites for years.
