Class: Kerrin Meis - Art Patrons in Italy: An Insider’s Tour (Corte Madera)

An exploration of masterpieces in seldom-visited sites as well as works tucked away in churches and palazzi in her more famous cities focusing on patronage: the competitive Olivetans, Franciscans and Dominicans. The aspirations of Federico de Montefeltro in Urbino, the Gonzaga in Mantua, etc. commissioning works from Masaccio, Masolino and many others.

Kerrin Meis taught art history at SFSU for ten years and now teaches OLLI programs at Dominican University and U.C. Berkeley, and leads study tours in Europe. Her Book Passage classes have been favorites for years.
