Class: Catherine Flaxman - Write Now
Keep your plot moving...write dialogue that pops...grab your reader from page one. Learn how principles of screenwriting and the cinematic arts can help you write more evocative prose. We will explore: what it means to think in pictures; the power of action, physicality and behavior; the inciting incidence/where the story begins; the use/overuse of flashback; voice, dialogue and sub-text; the flawer hero/ine. Participants may bring 1-2 pages of prose (yours or an author's whom you admire) to workshop in class.
Catherine Flaxman is a writer and story consultant, and has sold two screenplays and received two artists’ grants from the Marin Arts Council. She’s a licensed psychotherapist and seminar leader, with a background in the creative and contemplative arts.
