Christie Nelson - Dreaming Mill Valley
Dreaming Mill Valley ($15.96) is a cautionary love story of dreamers, innocents and fools set in Mill Valley and San Francisco in 1974, a restless time of social experimentation and political protest in the era of free love when love was hardly free.
In this new standalone novel, Christie Nelson brings back impetuous and obsessive Jess McCarty, from her first novel, Woodacre; her friend Annie Morrison—a mother who precariously balances painting and motherhood; Stewart Merch—a transplant from Michigan looking for his future; and Daniel Gessler—a Bolinas surfer and law-school dropout.
Christie Nelson is a native San Franciscan and graduate of Dominican University. Her novels reflect her fascination of place and exploration of contemporary characters in search identity. She lives with her husband in the Brewmeister’s House of the former San Rafael Brewery.
