She cofounded the Berkeley-based mind/body/spirit publishing company North Atlantic Books with Richard Grossinger in 1974, and was publisher and editorial director for many years. She coedited Nuclear Strategy and the Code of the Warrior: Faces of Mars and Shiva in the Crisis of Human Survival and is the author of five books of poetry, including the recent Wild Horses, Wild Dreams: New and Selected Poems 1971–2010.

Kevin Wilson reads from The Family Fang ($13.99), a novel described by Ann Patchett as a "comedy, a tragedy, and a tour de force.” Annie and Buster Fang have spent most of their adult lives trying to distance themselves from their famous artist parents. But when a bad economy and bad personal decisions converge, the two siblings have nowhere to turn but their parents. Kevin Wilson is the author of the collection, Tunneling to the Center of the Earth, which received both an Alex Award from the American Library Association and the Shirley Jackson Award. His fiction has appeared in Ploughshares, Tin House, One Story, and elsewhere, and has appeared in four volumes of the New Stories from the South: The Year's Best anthology. He lives in Sewanee, Tennessee where he teaches fiction at the University of the South and helps run the Sewanee Writers' Conference.
