Children's Writers & Illustrators Conference
June 18-21, 2015 - Corte Madera, CA
Learn the Skills and Make the Connections to Write, Illustrate & Publish Books for Children & Young Adults!
Join us for the 8th Annual Book Passage Children’s Writers & Illustrators Conference. The Conference will cover all aspects of writing and illustrating for children—from developing ideas to honing skills to finding a publisher. Participants will work closely with other writers and illustrators, as well as with agents, editors, and publishers. The conference is designed to meet the differing needs of those who create for different age groups. Participants will choose an area of emphasis for the morning sessions, such as writing for picture books, early readers, young adult books or illustration, and then work with a teacher in a workshop setting. In the afternoon, participants choose from panels of common interest, such as working with editors, working with agents, marketing and promotion. There will be many opportunities for faculty and participants to talk, laugh, and exchange ideas in classes, lunches, and at evening events.

|Press Coverage of the Conference |
were very helpful and encouraging to me both during and after the 2009
Children's Writers & Illustrators Conference. I connected with a
wonderful illustrator—Ji Young Lee—who also attended the conference, and we published a picture book of one of my stories, Marcie's Daffodil. It came out from Xlibris in December of 2010, and has been enthusiastically received wherever people have seen it.
"The Children's Writers & Illustrators Conference at Book Passage was an intimate and educational experience that allowed me to talk one on one with successful illustrators, authors, editors, art directors, and agents in the children's literature profession. From my attendance, I was able to gain a foundation of how good picture books are made and this information helped me become a published illustrator through A Moment in Time, which debuted this year!"
