About the Author
He was a major lineage holder of the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Since the early 1970s, he has taught thousands of studinets in North America, where he has established several centers for the study and practice of Tibetan Buddhism.

A former Tibetan Buddhist monk, he is also trained in physics and is a respected scholar of religion.
