About the Author
Mark Twain was the pen name of Samuel Langhorne Clemens (1835-1910). He is best remembered for The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (often considered to be The Great American Novel). Charles Dudley Warner is best known as an essayist and as Mark Twain's collaborator on The Gilded Age, but he also wrote four more novels on his own.
