About the Author
Patricia MacLachlan is the author of many novels for children, including the Newbery Medal?winning "Sarah, Plain and Tall;" "Baby; Waiting for the Magic;" and "The Truth of Me." Among her picture books are "What You Know" "First" and "Lala Salama." She lives in Western Massachusetts with her husband and her old dog, Emmet.
Barry Mosher, one of the foremost illustrators working today, has illustrated many books for adults and children, including The Pennyroyal Caxton edition of the King James Bible and Lewis Carroll's Alice: Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There.
Emily MacLachlan Charest lives with her husband, her children, Sofia and Nicholas, two dogs, and one oversized cat, Romeo, who thinks he's a dog. She works with young children. She is the coauthor of Bittle, Painting the Wind, Once I Ate a Pie, and other books. She lives in Massachusetts.
